Subject: PITCH- Interview with AP photographer caught in Obama “Hope” poster fraud scandal.

Dear Mr. Varley,

Did you know that Shepard Fairey, the artist behind the viral Obama “Hope” poster, faces jail time for allegedly destroying emails that confirm that he plagiarized the image–and lied to investigators about it? My name is Jasmin Figueroa and I am the representative for Mannie Garcia, the alleged victim and Associated Press photographer who took the stolen picture. Although my client has kept quiet about his interactions with Fairey and how this ordeal has negatively affected his career, he is finally ready to tell his story.

Are you interested in hosting an exclusive, one-on-one interview with Mr. Garcia? If so, he will be in NYC on December 8th or 9th. I will send an email following up on Monday, but I can be reached at jasmin.figueroa@appr.com or 1-212-555-1212 if you’d like to make arrangements before then.

Best,

Jasmin
